  • Kieran Meikle

    OWNER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR

    Kieran has over 11 years experience in the building industry including managing projects for a reputable architectural firm. Humble, honest and hard working are values that underpin his work ethic.

    Kieran has had a highly successful rugby career. He’s played international level rugby as well as 7’s and league, and still plays grassroots rugby for Darfield.

    In 2020 Kieran and his wife Marlee had to cut their Europe trip short and decided to dive into creating SK Design & Build with Stephen.

  • Stephen Burt

    OWNER AND DESIGN DIRECTOR

    Stephen has over 20 years building experience and 13 years in design. Stephen completed his apprenticeship in Nelson on hill and architectural builds. With this base knowledge, he has completed large multi level units, hill builds, passive houses, large high spec homes and ergonomically designed builds. In 2010 Stephen paused his build career to pursue a diploma in architecture, finishing top of his class.

    Outside of work Stephen is a black belt in Kyokushin karate having represented New Zealand in full contact tournaments. He is also kept busy with his young family and life by the beach.

On the few occasions we visited the site we were struck by the tidiness and the pride the Team took in their work - of the three houses we had built for us over the years, this one was by far the most pleasant and rewarding experience!
